Co-Founders

Karen Kirsch and Amanda Castile

Ms. Castile has 20+ years’ experience in animal welfare. She has worked as a kennel tech, a vet tech, a boarding/grooming facility manager, a behavioral dog trainer and the director of the local animal shelter. 

Ms. Kirsch has 30+ years’ experience in 501(c)3 and 501(c)6 non-profits.  She has worked as the education director, meeting planner, membership manager, field operations staff, board liaison and executive director of several national groups.  

Veterinarians

We partner with Russellville, KY, veterinarians 

Brown Animal Hospital and

 Nashville Road Animal Hospital 

for spay and neuter services.  

Volunteers

 Spayed and Aid of Kentucky has no staff.  

Our organization is run entirely by volunteers. (See photos below.)
