Spayed and Aid of Kentucky runs a Pet Food Pantry for veterans, senior citizens, the disabled and those who are having financial difficulties. Our mission to keep pets in their homes and out of local animal shelters by helping owners care for their pets.

Each February, Spayed and Aid of Kentucky conducts a county-wide community pet food donation drive to fill our pantry.  We collect puppy, kitten, dog and cat food as well as pet toys and cat litter.  We accept only unopened food (bags or cans). Businesses that participate in this program receive significant exposure for helping our local seniors, veterans and low-income residents throughout this county-wide event.  Businesses set up a location inside their facility where patrons can drop off food.  We will provide you with signage and a collection container.  Customers drop pet food off at the business and put it in the container.  SAA volunteers pick up the food weekly to ensure it does not get in the way of operating the business.  The event runs all month.  Contact us through the CONTACT tab on this website or MESSAGE US on Facebook if you are interested in serving as a drop off location.

Businesses that don't have the space to collect pet food can participate in the event by collecting monetary donations. Donations can be accepted via cash, check, Venmo or Paypal.  We will gladly leave you a jar and a flyer with our QR codes. 

Consider participating as a group or employer site.   Youth groups, school extracurricular activities, community service groups can all have internal collection drives for community service hours.  Employers  can collect at the workplace as a charitable activity.  Churches can collect one Sunday as a mission moment. (You don't have to collect all month.  Choose one week or even one day.)

Individuals can participate in the event by donating food at a local business drop off site.  Volunteers are also needed to help collect the food throughout the month. Donations are considered in-kind gifts.  We will gladly provide you with a tax receipt upon request.
